Intel Power Gadget overview
Intel Power Gadget is a software-based power-usage monitoring tool enabled for 2nd-generation Intel Core processors or later. It is supported on Windows and OS X, and includes an application, driver, and libraries to monitor and estimate real-time processor package power information in watts using the energy counters in the processor. With this release, we are providing functionality to evaluate power information on various platforms including notebooks, desktops. and servers.
What’s new in version 3.7.0
Version 3.7.0:
- The issue on macOS 10.13.4 should now be resolved with Intel Power Gadget for macOS 3.5.2.
For anyone who may have run into this issue in the past, you can resolve it with the following:
- Boot to Recovery mode by holding Cmd+R while booting
- Select Utilities > Terminal
- Execute the following command: rm -r /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/Extensions/EnergyDriver.kext. Note that if the partition you want to delete from is not named "Macintosh HD" then you'll need to adjust the partition name above.
- Restart

Quite strange: v3.7.0 is nowhere to be seen on Intel's page... :-o The button links to an index in the page where you can only find old versions. :-( Luckily MU is here! Thanks! :-)

Cannot get the latest version (Dec 12, 2018) to install properly on Mojave (10.14.2) with new Mojave security model (Accessibility and Full Disk Access).

Working as expected without any problems and allows iStats to display the current CPU frequency. Also a great tool to monitor CPU usage.

Works perfectly and quickly, and provides very useful insights. Have been using the tool for quite some time, using it now with High Sierra 10.13.6 and IPG version 3.5.3.
The "what's new" for version 3.5.4. listed above does not make sense, as it refers to version 3.5.2.
Those below who refer to bugs are in a very specific and old configuration (OS / IPG version). This is no more the case.
Once again, the rating system of MU is totally useless and misleading, as it combines scores for totally different versions...
